Step by step process to Make Pen drive as Bootable.

   Enter into CMD Prompt.
   Type - DISKPART.
   Type - List DISK.

Once we enter here it will list USB Disk Number.

If your USB Disk Number is 1. Then Execute following Commands.

   Select DISK 1
   Clean
   Create Partition Primary
   Select Partition 1
   Active
   Format FS=NTFS Quick
   Assign
   Exit.

Now insert DVD into DVD-Rom and Copy complete content of DVD into Removable Drive (Pen drive).

Common Error for Windows 8 Based Computers.

The product key entered does not match any of the Windows images available for installation. Enter a different product key.

Please follow these steps to solve this error.
Step -1
Create a file PID.TXT with following structure.

Step -2

[PID]
Value=XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Step – 3

Place your windows 8/2012 Pro key in where the X's are and save the file to the /sources directory in the Bootable USB Drive.

Why we need to follow this?

The PID file overrides the Pre-installed OEM key in the bios of your computer.  Windows 8/ Windows server 2012 installation starts right up.  Now I have a clean install of Windows 8/ Windows server 2012.

  8. Rahul thank you SO MUCH. I had an OEM HP laptop with a botched Win8 install on it and no recovery media, so I bought Win8.1 Pro retail thinking I'd just pop the DVD in and go. But nooooooooooo of course I have all sorts of problems which, to make a long story short, were all solved by your post. THANKS AGAIN!

  9. Rahul, Thank you so much!
I have a Sony Vaio and I wanted to reinstall Windows 8 clean and it was really hard every time I had this message saying that I must have a valid key, which was the case.
Small detail, I removed that it works in the UEFI bios to switch to legacy and I disabled the Secure for startup mode.
This works perfectly with your message, really thank you!

  16. By saying "Create a file PID.TXT with following structure" do you mean press "save as" and save it as "PID.TXT"?
